SolarWatchdog is an Australian company dedicated to providing consumers with the means to make an informed decision regarding solar PV solutions.
We are able to achieve this by putting Australian solar companies to the test via our SolarWatchdog Checklist, and then publishing the results for consumers to utilise, at no charge.
We’re proud of our unique, in-depth system and the ability it provides for consumers to understand which companies are ideal for their needs and which should be avoided.
Our unique system offers an instant star rating between 0 and 5, with 0 being poor and 5 being excellent. This rating is based on findings of our checklist. Our solar PV members are comprised of companies that scored very highly on the test, and consumers can peruse these members with assurance that they are fully vetted and qualified.
SolarWatchdog is not a reseller. We will never sell solar panels or other technology. We’re dedicated to ensuring consumers have reliable, accurate information on which to base their purchase decisions and to reward those solar PV companies who meet our strict standards of excellence. We are very proud of our unbiased, independent ratings and happily make this information available to consumers to use as often as they would like, free of charge.
Our Criteria
The SolarWatchdog Checklist is exhaustive and thorough. Based on the findings of this test, each solar PV company is granted a score between 0 and 5, with 5 being the highest attainable (members are solely comprised of companies scoring a 4 or 5 only). Some of the criteria on which we judge the quality, effectiveness and viability of solar companies include the following:
